A Reachable Season Finish

The climb to the season-end tournament now fits inside a single alpha week.

Alpha seasons only run about a week, and the old finish line of 100 ranked games was out of reach in that time, so the finals were locked to almost everyone. Now a short season asks for 50 games to qualify for the season-end tournament and the leaderboard, and the leaderboard counter shows that lower target. Longer seasons still ask for 100.

Improved

Fifty games to qualify on a short season. During a one-week alpha season you now need 50 ranked games to earn your season-end tournament seat and your leaderboard spot, down from 100. A week was never enough time to reach 100, so the bar sat above almost everyone. Fifty keeps qualifying meaningful while letting a normal alpha week actually carry you across the line. Longer seasons keep the 100-game target.

Fixed

The leaderboard counter shows the real target. On a short season your MATCHES column now counts toward 50 instead of the old 100, so the number you see is the number you actually need to qualify.

Play a handful of ranked games this week and your seat at the finals is within reach. Thanks for playing the alpha and climbing with us.

Frequently asked

How many ranked games do I need to qualify for the season-end tournament?

On a short alpha season (about one week) you need 50 ranked games to qualify for the season-end tournament and the leaderboard. Longer seasons still require 100.

Why was the qualification target lowered to 50?

Alpha seasons only last about a week, and 100 games could not be reached in that time, so the finals were locked to almost everyone. Fifty keeps the bar meaningful while fitting inside one alpha week.

Does the leaderboard now show the correct target?

Yes. On a short season your MATCHES column counts toward 50 instead of the old 100, so the number you see matches the number you actually need to qualify.
