Rewards, Rebuilt Around Rating

The strongest run earns the largest share.

This patch rebuilds how ranked rewards pay out. Day-end reward pools now split by how strong your ranked rating is, the old per-player cap is gone, and the hoops you had to clear to qualify got a lot shorter. We also raised the SGC supply ceiling to leave room for it and rewrote the economy whitepaper so you can read exactly how the pools work.

Improved

Day-end rewards now pay by your ranked rating. Each league family fills a daily reward pool, and that pool is split between the accounts that won matches that day. A winning share used to be a flat slice. Now every share is scaled by how strong your ranked rating is in that family, so a stronger run earns a bigger piece of the same pool. The size of the pool itself does not change, only how it is divided. You can read the full breakdown, including the exact curve and a live worked example, in the economy whitepaper.

The per-player cap is gone. Day-end rewards no longer clip what a single account can receive. Your share is bounded only by the pool itself, so on a day with few winners those winners are paid more instead of leaving value on the table. The day is still bounded overall by each family's pool cap, the weekly adjustment, and the shared daily budget. Those guardrails stay exactly where they were.

Qualifying is simpler. The account-age gate and the family-rating gate are both gone. To share in a day's pool you now just need to have played your qualifying matches with energy and to be in good standing. Fewer hoops, same fairness.

Small shares always pay out. A low weighted share used to round down to nothing, and a whole family of small shares could lapse and pay no one. That is fixed. A small winner still gets paid, and a family of small winners still splits its pool. Nobody who earned a share walks away with zero.

Balance

Room for the economy to grow. We raised the SGC supply ceiling tenfold, to 728,581,200. This is headroom, not inflation: nothing new is minted by the change, and it does not touch how rewards are earned or spent. It simply gives the reward economy space to run for a long time without bumping the ceiling.

That is the reward economy we want to run for the long haul: pay for playing well, keep it fair, and keep it readable. Thanks for playing the alpha and sending us your matches.

Frequently asked

How are day-end ranked rewards divided now?

Each league family fills a daily reward pool that is split between that day's winners by winning shares, and every share is scaled by how strong your ranked rating is in that family. A stronger rating earns a larger slice of the same pool. The pool size does not change, only how it is divided.

Did raising the SGC supply cap print new tokens?

No. Lifting the ceiling tenfold to 728,581,200 SGC only adds headroom. It mints nothing and does not change how rewards are earned or spent.

Do small winners still get paid?

Yes. Small weighted shares no longer round down to zero, and a family of small winners no longer lapses. Anyone who earned a share is paid.
