Backstory

The Celestrians are not from anywhere. They predate the current cosmic epoch and remember the heat-death of the previous one. Most are dormant inside dwarf stars; those that wake do so to settle grievances that long outlived their original perpetrators. Their wing-pattern carries genetic memory back to creation.

Physiology

Wyrm-form serpents the size of capital ships. Wing-membranes carry star-pattern memory. Breathe a directed weapon they call Verdict.

Visual template

Enormous wyrm-form serpentine beings, smallest measured at the length of a frigate, largest equal to a star carrier. Bodies are sinuous and segmented in heavy overlapping metallic-gold scales with darker bronze underbellies. A long head crowned with a fan of sweeping spiral horns rising from the temples and a longer single ridge running down the spine. Eyes are deep amber-gold with vertical pupils. Two great wing-membranes fold along the body — semitransparent in flight, lit from within by a moving point-pattern that is literally a star-map of the previous cosmic epoch. They breathe a focused weapon they call Verdict: a beam of compressed light that incinerates whatever it touches. Posture is regal and slow; small Celestrians coil and small-Celestrian-sized ones (Hatchlings, ~8m) hover. Older Celestrians have visible chips and scarring on their scales from past wars predating recorded history.
